About Hot Dish

Chef Steph grew up in Nebraska with a family
of talented gardeners and farmers then landed in Chicago in 1990. Over the past six years, she has led over 150 cooking classes, and catered numerous private parties. Her previous experience in art consulting and theater production lend creativity and visual appeal to every event. Chef Steph’s

culinary talents have taken her through the kitchens of
Taste America Catering and The Tasting Room. She also
does consulting, research and development and trade show demos for national companies. Her culinary education
includes a Certificate of Professional Cookery from
the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago, and additional
classes at Food Unites the World in Paris,
private instruction in Venice, Italy, and
The New School in New York City. Chef Steph believes
that cooking should be fun, creative, and serve as an

artistic medium which can bring people together.
Her favorite dessert is pears poached in a
port-wine ginger sauce, with mascarpone and mint.
